Lounge Host Job Description

Position Overview:

The Lounge Host is responsible for providing a warm and welcoming experience for all guests as they arrive and ensuring smooth seating arrangements within the lounge. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. As the first point of contact, the Lounge Host sets the tone for a memorable guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and Seating:

    • Welcome guests warmly as they enter the lounge, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression.
    • Manage guest seating arrangements, taking reservations and walk-ins into consideration to optimize table flow and guest satisfaction.
    • Escort guests to their seats and ensure they are comfortable, providing menus and answering any immediate questions.
  • Reservation Management:

    • Manage reservations and maintain an organized seating chart to ensure efficient seating and turnover of tables.
    • Communicate with the lounge manager and servers regarding large parties or special requests to ensure all guest needs are met.
    • Assist with waitlists during busy periods, providing accurate wait times and keeping guests informed of their table status.
  • Guest Relations:

    • Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests with professionalism and care, ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
    • Offer information about the lounge’s services, events, and menu offerings as needed.
    • Coordinate with the service team to ensure any special guest needs (e.g., birthdays, anniversaries) are met.
  • Lounge Area Maintenance:

    • Ensure the lounge entrance, seating areas, and host station are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
    • Monitor the lounge flow and atmosphere, ensuring that seating arrangements contribute to a comfortable, enjoyable environment.
  • Support for Lounge Operations:

    • Assist with lounge setup, including preparing seating areas for guests and resetting tables after they depart.
    • Work closely with the management team to ensure that service runs smoothly and efficiently.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a host, hostess, or guest relations role, preferably in a lounge or upscale setting, is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage warmly with guests.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing reservations and seating arrangements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and guests simultaneously.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
