About UPS & Our Culture

Electric pallet movers are the workhorses of the UPS fulfillment center floor — moving thousands of shrink-wrapped freight pallets between the sort area, dock staging lanes, and outbound trailers on every shift without the bottlenecks that manual pallet jacks create under high-volume conditions. Our Pallet Jack Operators are the skilled associates who command this equipment, keeping freight flowing at a pace that hand-carry and manual movement cannot sustain when a facility is processing 80,000 packages per shift. If you are searching for pallet jack operator jobs near me that pay an equipment premium, provide OSHA certification at no cost, and come with the Teamsters union contract behind every shift you work, UPS fulfillment pallet jack operation is the most financially rewarding entry point in powered equipment logistics work in this market.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"I came into UPS without any powered equipment experience and they put me through a full walkie-rider and stand-up pallet mover certification course before I ever touched a live load. The instruction was thorough, the practice time on the equipment was generous, and the certification test was fair. Within 60 days I was one of the faster operators in the facility. The OSHA certification UPS gave me is recognized across the entire warehousing industry — it travels with me wherever I go. Best pallet jack operator job I have had for pay, equipment quality, and safety culture." - Current Pallet Jack Operator, Oklahoma City, OK.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Pallet Jack Operator, you operate walkie-rider electric pallet movers and stand-up pallet trucks across the sort floor and dock areas of our fulfillment center, transporting shrink-wrapped freight pallets between sort output staging, dock door positions, and trailer loading lanes at a sustained pace that keeps the outbound dock ahead of the departure schedule throughout every shift.

  • Walkie-Rider & Stand-Up Operation: Operate Crown or Raymond brand walkie-rider electric pallet movers and stand-up counterbalance pallet trucks across the active warehouse floor — navigating aisle intersections, dock door aprons, and trailer threshold ramps safely at operating speeds between 5 and 8 MPH with full pedestrian awareness enforced at every crosswalk zone.
  • Pallet Load Verification: Visually inspect every pallet load before moving it — confirming shrink-wrap integrity, pallet board condition, and load stability — refusing to transport any pallet with exposed or unstable freight until it has been re-wrapped and re-inspected to UPS stability standards.
  • OSHA Daily Pre-Shift Inspection: Complete the UPS OSHA-required electric pallet mover pre-shift checklist at the start of every shift — verifying battery charge level, hydraulic function, horn operation, forks condition, and speed-limiter performance — tagging and removing any unit with a deficiency before the shift begins and reporting the finding to the maintenance supervisor for same-day repair scheduling.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Pallet Jack Operators earn an equipment operation wage premium on top of the standard Teamsters handler base rate. All OSHA-compliant walkie-rider, stand-up pallet truck, and electric pallet mover certifications are fully funded and delivered by UPS at no cost to the associate. Full Teamsters medical, dental, and vision benefits, pension accrual, paid personal days, and UPS Earn & Learn tuition program participation are all included from the first day of union eligibility.
