(Remote | Pacific Time Zone Preferred | Some Travel Required)

Are you passionate about using health technology to improve patient care and operational efficiency? Do you thrive in a dynamic, mission-driven environment that has a positive impact on patients? Do you enjoy sharing knowledge with others? If so, HealthEfficient would love to hear from you!

Who We Are

HealthEfficient is a growing, mission-driven not-for-profit organization that supports more than 60 member Community Health Centers (CHCs) and other "safety net" primary care providers around the country and the US Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPI). Our mission focuses on improving clinical and operational quality through the use of Health Information Technology (HIT) of CHCs, providing excellent health care to some of the most vulnerable populations in the country.

About the Role

We're seeking a Senior Program Manager, HIT Programs, to serve as a trusted consultant for community health providers, guiding them on the use of HIT to deliver tailored, impactful solutions that drive measurable improvements in care delivery and health outcomes. You will play a critical role in advancing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems—especially eClinicalWorks, and also AthenaOne or NextGen—as well as patient engagement platforms and population health tools. Your expertise will help community health centers align their HIT and workflows with quality improvement objectives and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a consultant to community health providers, delivering guidance and training on HIT solutions to optimize care delivery
  • Lead HIT projects, including EHR implementations, system enhancements, and workflow optimizations.
  • Assess health center EHR configurations and workflows, providing clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions (both remote and in-person) to help health center staff maximize their HIT tools.
  • Develop best practice workflows and training materials tailored to community health center operations.
  • Facilitate peer-learning sessions and workgroups focused on data sharing and HIT best practices.
  • Guide health centers in leveraging HIT to support value-based care, interoperability, and compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to advance HIT initiatives that improve clinical quality, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide direct support to health centers in the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPI), ensuring successful EHR adoption and utilization.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A collaborative consultant — skilled at working with diverse teams, guiding them to HIT success.
  • A strategic project manager — able to manage multiple priorities and deliver measurable results.
  • An EHR expert — experienced in eClinicalWorks, AthenaOne, or NextGen administration, configuration, and best practices within a primary care setting.
  • A workflow optimization specialist — adept at identifying HIT challenges and implementing practical, data-driven solutions.
  • A dynamic trainer & facilitator — capable of simplifying complex HIT concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Experienced with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) — knowledgeable about the unique needs, challenges, and compliance requirements of community health centers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in or with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) is required.
  • Extensive experience with eClinicalWorks in a primary care setting is required; experience with other EHRs, such as AthenaOne or NextGen, is strongly preferred.
  • Proven project management experience is required.
  • Strong meeting facilitation, communication, and training skills are required.
  • Experience with EHR implementations and population health tools is required.

Why Join Us?

  • Make an impact by supporting health centers serving underserved communities.
  • Be part of a collaborative, mission-driven team that values innovation and expertise.
  • Work remotely - accommodate a flexible schedule that aligns with time zone differences between our staff and member organizations.
  • Access professional growth opportunities through travel, training, and continuous learning.
