Together, our teams help elevate lives through education.<br><br>The <strong>Part-Time Supervisor</strong> is a frontline leader who supports the daily operations of the campus store by delivering an exceptional customer experience and helping drive operational excellence. Working closely with the store leadership team, this role provides day-to-day leadership, coaches and supports store team members, and helps ensure the successful execution of store priorities. The Part-Time Supervisor leads by example, promotes a culture of collaboration and service, and contributes to a welcoming retail environment that supports the success of the campus community.<br><br><em>A Part-Time Supervisor works a varied schedule, year-round. <br><br></em><strong>How You'll Make An Impact<br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead by example on the sales floor, delivering exceptional customer service while coaching and supporting team members to create a customer-first culture.</li><li>Support the daily operations of the store by assisting with opening and closing responsibilities, serving as Manager-on-Duty when assigned, and helping ensure operational priorities are completed.</li><li>Provide day-to-day leadership by assigning work, monitoring progress, coaching team members, and helping ensure daily priorities and operational standards are achieved.</li><li>Maintain a working knowledge of all store departments to assist customers, support team members, and meet business needs across the store.</li><li>Resolve customer questions and concerns with professionalism, exercising sound judgment and escalating issues when appropriate.</li><li>Support the onboarding and training of new team members while reinforcing company policies, operational standards, and customer service expectations.</li><li>Assist with merchandising, inventory management, replenishment, order fulfillment, point-of-sale transactions, and other operational activities to maintain a customer-ready store and achieve operational goals.</li><li>Promote company standards by supporting operational excellence, safety, loss prevention, and a clean, organized shopping environment.</li><li>Promote a clean, safe, and organized store environment by modeling operational excellence and supporting store standards.<br><br></li></ul><strong>What You'll Need To Succeed<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li><li>High school diploma or GED preferred. </li><li>2+ years of retail experience preferred. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service and support daily store operations.</li><li>Ability to coach, motivate, and provide direction to team members in a fast-paced retail environment.</li><li>Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, adapt to changing business needs, and work collaboratively with store leadership.</li><li>Ability to work varying schedules on a weekly basis year-round, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Physical Demands<br><br></strong><ul><li>Frequent movement throughout the store to access merchandise, assist customers, and support daily operations. </li><li>Routine tasks may involve hanging and/or folding merchandise, stocking shelves, unpacking merchandise received, pulling and packing web orders for customers, pulling and packing merchandise to be returned to vendors, transporting merchandise within the store, assisting with the delivery of course materials to students within the store, completing data entry, or a variety of other physical tasks. </li><li>Ability to remain in a stationary position for periods of time. </li><li>Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of merchandise. </li><li>Occasional reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.</li><li>May be required to perform routine housekeeping duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, and trash removal.<br><br></li></ul><strong>How We Elevate Our Employees<br><br></strong>All hourly employees are eligible for:<br><br><ul><li>DailyPay earned wage access. </li><li>Sick time accrual from date of hire.</li><li>Generous employee discounts, including course materials and textbooks.</li><li>Potential eligibility to participate in a 401(k) plan after working sufficient hours.</li><li>The opportunity to gain valuable experience.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion<br><br></strong>At Barnes & Noble College, we empower everyone.
