Environment, Health and Safety Manager

<p>EHS Manager</p><p><strong>Yakima, WA</strong></p><p><br></p><p>A leading manufacturer of food and specialty packaging products is seeking an experienced <strong>Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager</strong> to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives at a large-scale manufacturing facility in Yakima, WA.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a highly visible leadership opportunity supporting a <strong>550-employee manufacturing operation</strong>. The EHS Manager will have significant influence on site safety culture, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Lead and execute the site-wide Environmental, Health & Safety strategy and compliance programs</li><li>Ensure compliance with <strong>OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations</strong></li><li>Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, inspections, and incident investigations</li><li>Identify opportunities to reduce workplace hazards and improve overall safety performance</li><li>Develop, implement, and deliver employee safety training programs</li><li>Manage workers' compensation processes and support return-to-work initiatives</li><li>Lead and coordinate emergency response and preparedness programs</li><li>Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, HR, Quality, and other departments to drive safety improvements</li><li>Oversee environmental reporting, permitting, and compliance requirements</li><li>Track EHS metrics and develop action plans to address performance gaps</li><li>Promote employee engagement and accountability around safety practices</li><li>Supervise, mentor, and develop an EHS Coordinator</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen site safety and environmental performance</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field with <strong>5+ years of EHS experience</strong></li><li><strong>10+ years of directly related EHS experience may be considered in lieu of a degree</strong></li><li>Previous <strong>EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required</strong></li><li>Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems</li><li>Experience with environmental compliance, permitting, and reporting</li><li>Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations</li><li>Food-grade manufacturing, packaging, plastics, blown film, or similar manufacturing experience is preferred</li><li>Previous experience supervising or mentoring EHS personnel is preferred</li><li>Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with employees and leaders at all levels of a manufacturing organization</li><li>Hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day EHS responsibilities</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Compensation & Benefits</p><ul><li><strong>$105,000 – $120,000 base salary</strong></li><li><strong>10% annual bonus</strong></li><li>Medical, dental, and vision insurance</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Paid vacation and holidays</li><li>Tuition reimbursement</li><li>Career development opportunities</li><li><strong>Relocation assistance available</strong></li><li>Free onsite clinic</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Why Consider This Opportunity?</p><p><br></p><p>This is an opportunity to take ownership of EHS for a large-scale manufacturing operation and make a measurable impact on safety culture, compliance, and operational performance.
