PROJECT SCHEDULER – ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
Northern Suburbs, Cape Town | Market Related Salary
Great project delivery starts with a planner who sees what’s coming.
An established electrical engineering contractor is seeking a Project Scheduler who can connect site realities with a workable programme. If you can spot a bottleneck, explain its impact and help the project team respond before a milestone slips, this opportunity deserves your attention.
You’ll work directly with project managers, engineers and site teams to build credible schedules and keep everyone focused on the activities that drive delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities

What You’ll Take Ownership Of
  • Build the delivery plan: Translate project requirements into detailed schedules with clear milestones, dependencies and resource needs.
  • Keep the programme grounded in reality: Gather updates from site teams and subcontractors, assess actual progress and revise forecasts.
  • Protect the critical path: Identify the activities that determine completion dates and flag constraints requiring immediate attention.
  • Turn delays into action: Assess the impact of slippage and recommend practical adjustments to help recover progress.
  • Give management a clear picture: Produce reports that show what is on track, what is at risk and where decisions are needed.
  • Bring teams into alignment: Coordinate scheduling inputs so engineering, site and subcontractor activities work towards the same deadlines.
  • Keep a reliable planning record: Document baselines, revisions, assumptions and approvals to support project controls and reporting.
What You’ll Bring
  • At least 3 years’ project planning or scheduling experience, preferably in electrical infrastructure, construction or engineering.
  • Grade 12.
  • Proven ability to build and manage schedules using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar software.
  • A solid understanding of critical path analysis, dependencies, project lifecycles and progress measurement.
  • Strong Excel skills and accurate, clear reporting.
  • The confidence to question progress updates, highlight risks and communicate effectively with office and site teams.
  • A relevant engineering, construction management, project management or planning qualification.
  • A valid driver’s license.
Make your experience count: In your CV, highlight the projects you have scheduled, the software you used and examples of how your planning helped manage delays or achieve milestones.
Thank you for your interest in this vacancy. If you are shortlisted, you will be contacted within 2 weeks of CV submission.
