Regional Utility Sales Professional – Midwest U.S.

Job Description:

  • Drive profitable sales for the power utility business in the assigned territory
  • Develop, implement, and execute effective territory business plans
  • Prioritize end customers, markets, and distributors for effective territory management
  • Implement promotions and directives set by division management
  • Collaborate across power utility territories and other 3M EMD Divisions to meet customer needs
  • Drive a company vehicle and undergo pre-employment and ongoing motor vehicle history review
  • Travel up to 50% domestically
  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and security standards
  • Follow safety policies, identify hazards, and engage in continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher and two (2) years direct sales OR electric utility industry experience
  • Associate's degree and five (5) years of sales experience
  • Current, valid driver’s license
  • MBA is preferred
  • Sales experience in the Power Utility Market
  • Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
  • Aptitude to understand and train customers on multiple product lines and applications
  • Field/Channel sales experience
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to all levels
  • Ability to qualify and prioritize sales opportunities within assigned territory
  • Experience working in a matrix environment or large complex organization
  • Strong computer skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Salesforce.com, and database management
  • Strong oral, written and presentation skills
  • Strong team player, ability to work effectively with peers
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status
  • Must provide education and work history in the application
  • Must comply with corporate policies, procedures, security standards, and safety policies
  • Must contribute to Environmental Health and Safety culture
