Researching Interview - YouTube Content Creators (USA)

We are recruiting active YouTube creators to take part in a paid, remote 75-minute interview about how you use AI tools in your video creation and editing workflow, including which tools you use, how valuable they feel, your views on free vs. paid tiers, and any friction points around paying for them.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

- Join a 75-minute one-on-one interview via Google Meet, in English, with a researcher.

- Walk us through your actual video creation/editing workflow, showing the tools and apps you use.

- Share your honest, detailed opinions, we want creative, articulate, candid answers, not scripted ones.

- Be ready to briefly verify your channel/account and recent posting history before the interview.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

This is a global study covering creators in the US, South Korea, Brazil, and Indonesia. We're looking for a mix of creator types, from creators who combine multiple AI tools (web + mobile/desktop) to creators who edit everything from their phone, with or without AI.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 1,000+ YouTube subscribers.

- YouTube is your primary or co-primary platform: at least 50% of your regular video output goes to YouTube (Shorts or long-form).

- You are personally and directly involved in the end-to-end creation and editing of your videos (not fully outsourced to an editor).

- You can clearly explain and demonstrate your workflow without needing to be prompted.

- You are comfortable discussing which tools/apps you use and pay for.

- Fluent in English (interview is conducted in English).

- Available for a 75-minute session on Google Meet (scheduling window: 8:00am–8:30pm IST / adjust to your local time zone).

WE'RE LOOKING FOR A MIX OF THESE CREATOR PROFILES (you don't need to fit more than one):

- Multi-tool / browser-AI hybrid creators (US only): in the last 3 months, generated assets in a web AI platform (e.g., Higgsfield, Hailuo, Runway, Kling, Midjourney) and brought them into a mobile app or desktop editor (e.g., Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve) for final edit.

- Mobile-first video editors (all markets): your entire production happens on a phone/tablet using apps like CapCut, InShot, VN, VLLO, Vrew, or YouTube Create, with no/minimal desktop editing. Can be AI-forward or not.

- Mobile AI experimenters (US, India, Indonesia): actively experimenting with AI features inside mobile apps to post more often or add visual variety.

- Traditional / non-AI creators (all markets): you currently do NOT use generative AI to create or edit your videos. Basic automated features like auto-captions or auto-cut are fine.

- YouTube Create users (bonus, 3–4 needed): have used the YouTube Create app recently (ideally within the last 30 days).

WHAT WE OFFER:

- Payment per completed interview (amount confirmed after screening).

- Fully remote, no travel required.

- A relaxed, conversational format. We want your real opinions, not a pitch.

NEXT STEPS:

Please answer the screening questions below. If you're a good fit, we'll verify your channel and posting history, may ask for a short introductory video to confirm authenticity, and will send a scheduling link plus a simple NDA.

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
