Now Brewing – senior payroll analyst (Remote - U.S.)! #tobeapartner

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others.

As a Starbucks payroll analyst senior, you will support and improve the processes that enable accurate and timely payment of our 250,000+ partners in the United States and Canada. They will support the payroll team with weekly processing of payroll, evaluate complex payroll issues, provide training to other team members, create and follow best practices and support technology enhancements.

As a senior payroll analyst, you will…

  • Identify areas that need to be monitored or analyzed on a consistent basis. Anticipate and prepare for potential issues and recommend resolutions. Report payroll processing and system issues as appropriate and assist with troubleshooting.

  • Support management in accomplishing the organization’s payroll processing objectives and will serve as a “change agent” to promote best practices and technological advancements.

  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements. Lead cross functional teams in resolving process concerns and developing new processes. Maintain process documentation, validating policies and procedures against State and Provincial laws. Participate in periodic internal auditing of key responsibilities.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Multi-state/Provincial full cycle payroll processing, including time entry to general ledger entry.

  • Foundational understanding of payroll including garnishments, bonus payments, special payments and payroll taxes for US (required) and Canada (preferred).

  • Strong customer skills with consistent follow-through and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

  • Strong analytical and technical skills with attention to detail and execution with the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology and ability to identify, evaluate and support process improvements. Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions.

  • Ability to mentor and train peers, payroll analyst associates and payroll analysts

You will also have access to backup care and DACA reimbursement. Starbucks will comply with any applicable state and local laws regarding employee leave benefits, including, but not limited to providing time off pursuant to the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, and in accordance with its plans and policies. This list is subject to change depending on collective bargaining in locations where partners have a certified bargaining representative. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.
