Senior Shopify Developer – Remote (US)

At Hire With Jarvis, we help teams grow by placing the right people in the right seats at the right time. We are partnering with a growing ecommerce organization to hire a Senior Shopify Developer who will play a key role in shaping, enhancing, and maintaining high-performing storefront experiences across both D2C and B2B channels.

This is a great opportunity for a developer who thrives at the intersection of technology, brand experience, and growth enablement. You will work closely with marketing, creative, and engineering teams to build conversion-focused experiences, support campaign launches, and evolve a modern, serverless-first Shopify ecosystem.

What You Will Do
Shopify Storefront Development

  • Develop, enhance, and optimize Shopify storefronts in a Theme 2.0 environment
  • Build modular components, sections, and reusable UI features using Liquid, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS
  • Implement UX improvements and campaign-driven updates in collaboration with marketing and brand teams

Platform and App Ecosystem

  • Work across Shopify APIs (Admin, Storefront, GraphQL and REST) with a deep understanding of capabilities and constraints
  • Build and maintain custom Shopify extensions, Functions, or private apps when needed
  • Evaluate when to configure existing apps vs. when to build from scratch for scalability

Integrations and Architecture

  • Support and enhance integrations between Shopify and core business systems such as ERP, PIM, CRM, and data platforms
  • Contribute to backend extension layers using serverless services in AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS)
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to storefront experience, stability, and data flow

Conversion and Experimentation

  • Partner with marketing to build and execute A/B and multivariate tests in Shopify
  • Ensure proper configuration and flow of tracking and analytics events to GA4 and related platforms
  • Assist with CRO initiatives that improve engagement, speed, and overall conversion health

Who Will Thrive Here

  • You have 5+ years of professional web development, including at least 3+ years working deeply with Shopify
  • You are fluent in Liquid, JavaScript/TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and modern build pipelines
  • You have hands-on experience with Shopify Theme 2.0, app blocks, metafields, and dynamic content structures
  • You understand how to build and scale Shopify B2C and B2B experiences
  • You are comfortable working with serverless AWS tools or are excited to deepen your skill set here
  • You collaborate naturally with creative and marketing stakeholders, not just engineering teams
  • You enjoy fast iteration cycles and ownership over your work

Bonus Experience
(Not required, but great to have)

  • Shopify Functions and Checkout UI extensions
  • Acumatica, Salsify, Klaviyo, Yotpo, Databricks
  • CRO tools such as Shoplift, Visually, or similar
  • AI-assisted development workflows (GitHub Copilot, etc.)

Why This Role Is Exciting

  • High visibility and ownership across the full commerce stack
  • Direct impact on customer experience, brand presentation, and business growth
  • A collaborative environment where experimentation and new ideas are encouraged
  • Opportunity to work across both marketing initiatives and technical platform evolution

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
