margin-left: 0in;"><li style="margin:0in;">Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; processes employee concerns and problems; directs work; counsels; disciplines; trains; and completes employee performance appraisals.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Coordinates daily work activities; organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; develops work schedules to ensure adequate coverage; creates and distributes work schedules and assignments; approves leave time and reviews usage; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; consults with assigned staff, assists with complex/problem situations, and provides technical expertise.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures; ensures adherence to established safety procedures; and monitors work environment and use of safety equipment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Oversees the daily solid waste collection, processing and hauling activities for garbage, recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste; oversees the handling of materials at the City’s transfer station and joint use compactor sites; monitors the downtown area for maintenance of all City litter containers; responds to customer service issues with all residential, commercial and internal customers; provides support to solid waste code enforcement activities; and serves as back-up for scale house operations.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Maintains inventories of supplies, forms and equipment; ensures availability of adequate supplies to complete work activities; prepares purchase requisitions for needed materials, equipment, and supplies; and receives/distributes incoming supply shipments.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Consults with assigned staff, assists with complex/problem situations; responds to complaints and questions related to solid waste service issues and activities; provides information; research solutions and resolves problems.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Prepares or completes various forms, reports, work orders, logs, accident reports, or other documents.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Receives various forms, reports, work orders, or other documents; reviews, completes, processes, forwards or retains as appropriate.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Communicates with supervisor, employees, other departments, the public, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Operates a personal computer, small tools, general office or other equipment.</li></ul></div><p style="margin:0in;text-align:center;"><strong><u>ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS</u></strong></p><div style="margin:0in;"><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-left: 0in;"><li style="margin:0in;">Assists in hurricane preparedness; assists in clean up after natural disasters.</li><li style="margin:0in;">Performs other related duties as required, requested, and assigned. </li></ul></div><p style="margin:0in;" data-pasted="true"><strong><span style="color:inherit;">Education and Experience:</span></strong></p><p style="margin:0in;text-align:justify;"><span style="color:inherit;">Requires a high school diploma or equivalent;
