About the position
The Senior Manager, IT Portfolio Management (PMO) is responsible for leading the IT organization's Project Management Office (PMO) and overseeing a portfolio of strategic technology initiatives that support business growth, operational excellence, and digital transformation. This role provides leadership, governance, financial oversight, resource planning, and delivery management across multiple enterprise programs and projects. A key focus of this role is establishing and standardizing project governance, methodologies, reporting, and portfolio management tools across the organization. This individual will drive portfolio prioritization, project execution, and PMO maturity while ensuring technology investments align with strategic objectives and deliver measurable business value.
Responsibilities
- Lead the enterprise PMO and oversee a portfolio of strategic business and technology initiatives.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Program and Project Managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
- Establish portfolio governance processes, standards, methodologies, and performance metrics.
- Drive portfolio prioritization and investment decisions in partnership with executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment of technology investments with business strategy and organizational objectives.
- Facilitate portfolio reviews, steering committees, and executive governance forums.
- Provide end-to-end oversight of enterprise programs and projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in IT project management, program management, portfolio management, or PMO leadership roles.
- 5+ years of people leadership experience managing Project Managers or PMO teams.
- Experience leading an enterprise PMO and managing complex portfolios of concurrent projects and programs.
- Demonstrated success overseeing large-scale technology and business transformation initiatives.
- Experience managing multimillion-dollar project portfolios and budgets.
- Strong experience with executive-level governance, portfolio reporting, and strategic planning.
- Proven success managing vendors, negotiating contracts, and overseeing third-party delivery partners.
