Interior Designer, Site Visits + Design Support (Part-Time, Flexible) - Atlanta, GA
About MN+A
MN+A is an Atlanta-based architecture, interiors, and design-build studio, and a National Trust for Historic Preservation affiliated practice. Our work is rooted in material, memory, and place. We believe honoring history shapes better futures, and that every project has a story worth telling well. We work across residential and commercial architecture, adaptive reuse and preservation, interior architecture, and construction, with a small, fully remote team that values authenticity, craft, and clear communication.
The role
We're looking for an Atlanta-based interior designer to be our presence on the ground. You'll work closely with our design team, visit project sites around metro Atlanta, and help carry projects from first ideas through to finished spaces.
What you'll be doing
- Developing color stories, material palettes, and moodboards
- Visiting sites to capture existing conditions through photos, measurements, and notes
- Sourcing and procuring furniture, fixtures, finishes, and products
- Preparing and delivering client presentations
- Meeting with clients on site and representing the studio in person
- Supporting the design team with documentation and project coordination as needed
Who you are
- A confident self-starter who can take direction and run with it
- A strong speaker and clear communicator, comfortable leading a conversation with a client
- Organized, dependable, and detail-minded on site
- Adaptable and eager to learn, open to feedback and new ways of working
- Studying or trained in interior design, interior architecture, or architecture
- Familiar with tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, SketchUp, or similar (a plus, not required)
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
Pay + schedule
- $25/hour for design, sourcing, and presentation work
- $80 flat per site visit, covering travel and up to 2 hours on site within metro Atlanta. Additional on-site time is billed at the hourly rate
- Independent contractor (1099) position
- Flexible schedule with no set weekly hours. Work is scheduled around project needs and your availability
