President & COO / Operating Lead

President & COO / Operating Lead - Dabria Studios

Dabria Studios is a creator-led media studio developing, producing, owning, and distributing original scripted programming directly to audiences.

Our first original, The Lockdown House, has completed principal photography, DabriaStudios.com is live, and we are preparing a four-property 2027 Pilot Season.

We are seeking a President & COO / Operating Lead to work directly alongside the Founder and build the operational side of Dabria Studios.

The Founder will continue leading creative vision, original IP, development, showrunning, and slate strategy. The President & COO will own the business systems, planning, financial coordination, and cross-functional execution needed to turn that creative slate into a functioning, scalable studio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day company operations and operating priorities
  • Turn company strategy into clear timelines, responsibilities, and execution plans
  • Manage budgeting, cash planning, forecasts, and financial coordination
  • Support Dabria Studios’ pre-seed fundraising process, including investor follow-up, diligence preparation, and reporting
  • Establish KPIs, workflows, operating systems, and accountability across the company
  • Coordinate production, commercial, audience/growth, and platform/data functions
  • Help recruit and manage specialist contractors, operators, and project teams
  • Coordinate vendors and outside professional services
  • Support sponsorship, partnership, and commercial planning
  • Help prepare the company for its 2027 Pilot Season
  • Coordinate operations across Dabria Studios’ New York and Melbourne activities
  • Work closely with the Founder while maintaining a clear distinction between creative leadership and business operations

What we’re looking for

We are open to candidates currently working as a COO, Head of Operations, Operations Director, General Manager, Chief of Staff, Business Operations Lead, or similar senior operating role.

Strong candidates should have:

  • 5+ years of relevant operations, management, or business leadership experience
  • Experience owning or materially contributing to budgets, cash planning, forecasts, or financial operations
  • Experience building systems and processes in an early-stage or fast-moving organization
  • Strong project and cross-functional management skills
  • Comfort working directly with a founder
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • The ability to move between strategic planning and hands-on execution
  • Comfort working in a remote and distributed environment

Experience in media, entertainment, digital media, creator businesses, production, consumer startups, sponsorship, or direct-to-consumer businesses is valuable but not required.

Fundraising, investor diligence, or investor-reporting experience is also helpful but not required.

Role structure

This is initially a part-time/fractional contract position.

Dabria Studios is currently raising its pre-seed round. The selected candidate’s paid operating engagement is expected to begin upon financing, with the intention for the role to expand as the company grows.

Compensation

$40,000–$60,000 per year annualised equivalent, prorated based on the agreed fractional scope and time commitment.

Compensation and scope will be revisited if the position expands following financing.

Work arrangement

  • Remote
  • Flexible schedule
  • Dabria Studios operates across New York and Melbourne
  • Candidates should be comfortable with asynchronous work and occasional scheduled overlap across time zones
  • No relocation required

Benefits

Because this position begins as an independent contractor engagement, traditional employee benefits are not currently included.

The role offers remote work and scheduling flexibility. If the position later converts to full-time employment, we will revisit compensation and benefits.

Hiring process

Qualified candidates can expect:

  • Introductory conversation with the Founder
  • Detailed conversation about operating experience and leadership approach
  • Working discussion focused on Dabria Studios’ current stage, fundraising, and 2027 operating plan
  • Reference checks for finalist candidates
  • Final scope and compensation discussion

We are looking for someone who wants to build the operating foundation of a new independent media company, not simply maintain systems that already exist.

Dabria Studios is an equal opportunity company. Applicant information will be used only for evaluating candidates for this position and related hiring purposes.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
